A Trip to South Africa

We recently went to Johannesburg, South Africa for fifteen days. It was life changing. We went as guests of Pastor Tara McCauley who together with her husband, Pastor Joshua McCauley pastors Rhema and Redemption churches, located in South Africa and the Netherlands. We visited several children’s homes and the slum area called Alex where we saw a small kitchen that a woman uses to cook for 300 homeless people daily. We met with youth pastors and women pastors, and Jesus Cares who are the heart, the hands and the feet of Jesus. We heard heavenly music from the choir and worship team, and we went on Safari with our good friends Pastor Suzanne and Dave. We were able to listen to the stories of the Africans while at the same time sharing our stories about Brazil. We tasted of a wonderful culture that is friendly and inclusive, and colorful. We heard beautiful music and tasted great food. We saw nature that was protected and uncorrupted, with animals living in their natural habitat. We were refreshed, renewed, filled with the Holy Spirit and ready to go back to our work in Brazil.
