Jill van Opstal-Popa: A journey of faith and compassion

Jill van Opstal-Popa, originally from a small town in the Akron area of Ohio, is the wife of Paul and the mother of three grown children. Together with her husband, who hails from the Netherlands, Jill has dedicated thirty-four years of her life to missionary work. Initially serving with YWAM Amsterdam, she later moved to Brazil where she co-founded Lar Feliz, a children’s shelter also known as Happy Home. In addition to her humanitarian efforts, Jill and Paul have established a thriving church in the rural area of Jaguariuna, where they warmly welcome all. Despite her humble beginnings, Jill’s faith in an extraordinary God and her unwavering belief in the matchless grace of Jesus define her journey. Currently residing in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Jill continues to embody the spirit of compassion and dedication in her mission.
